as you all know, i love to eat and all kinds of food. a couple months ago, our favorite local korean restaurant shut down without any notice. the wait staff LOVED our kids by showering them with lots of affection and extra treats at the end of our meal. every time we walked into the restaurant, we felt like norm from "cheers." (steve, this should resonate with you.) anyway, we heard through the grapevine that the owners had divorced and so they closed shop pretty quicky.
welll...last week, we found out that one of the owners had relocated to fairfax but with a new name! we were elated to find out that we could once again enjoy the yummy chinified korean food and receive special customer service. so, on friday, we checked out il poom hyang (i know it's such a mouth full and difficult to prounounce.) to our surprise, the whole wait staff was in tact and we were greeted with a warm reception -- big smiles, hugs and even TEARS! can you believe it?!? one waitress was so overjoyed to see our little kids that she actually started to cry. she kept apologizing that they had to leave abruptly without telling us where they were going and how she often thought about us and wondered if she would ever see us again. wow, talk about korean drama. ;p the wait staff caused such a stink that we were there, that the other customers were getting annoyed with all of us. hahaha...
in summary, our meal was delicious -- actually, the food tasted better and the service was excellent! our favorite waitress gave us extra food, drinks and, of course, treats for the little ones. and now, all is well with the world.

My new office has a cup-at-a-time coffee maker with 8 different kinds of coffee, 4 different kinds of hot tea and
(wait for it)
6 different kinds of hot chocolate.
I think I might like it here.
