yes, i have been working hard to lose some excess fat these days sans exercise (right foot still hurts). i lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks just by eating more veggies & fruits and cutting out my usual post-meal sweets. i guess with the weather all being obnoxiously hot and my tongue always feeling like it's on fire...my appetite has diminished considerably. although...i think i might've gained 2 lbs back tonight by inhaling 6 tacos in 10 mins--no exaggeration. the cook kept staring at me from the kitchen, and the cashier lady just kept smiling at me. yeah, not too proud of myself, but hadn't touched these lovely tippy's tacos in literally one year. it's a real hole in the wall and my husband thinks i'm crazy for eating there. it's sorta like how i can't understand why he loves eating at china cafe. yuck. apparently, it brings back memories of UMD @ college park.
likewise, tippy's is nostalgia, comfort food...brings me back to the good ole days of my youth. you see, i grew up eating many meals at tippy's (the original in arlington, va) with my patrick henry apt. elementary friends. most of us were latch key kids and we were walkers, so we always stopped by 7-eleven after school, picked up some gumballs for 5 cents or those pretend cigarette gums that actually puffed out smoke. btw, do they even sell those anymore? is it even legal to sell them to kids these days? ok, strange picturing my kids enjoying a puff on those gum sticks. yea, that's kinda weird. i don't approve.
o wow, i really went on a tangent here...so, yea, my goal is to lose 15 lbs by the end of this year and maintain it. it's really not a vanity thing, i just want to be able to wear my old clothes again. i recently pulled out a large container of clothes underneath my bed and found 20 pairs of pants--all kinds, khakis, capris, different colors. i totally forgot i had all these nice pants. great motivation to lose weight. please keep me accountable!
