so, i started working on this baby sweater project (1st sweater in seed stitch) early december 2011, thinking that i had about 1 1/2 months to complete. but, my friend ended up having her baby boy on christmas day--3 weeks early! needless to say, i ended up stressing pretty badly about whether her baby would outgrow this sweater by the time i was able to finish it. thanks to jenny (my life knitting/crochet coach), i pushed through...even through the stupid button holes fiasco!
last weekend, i finally tucked in all those loose ends (drove me nuts!) and attached buttons from my old rain coat (resourceful). hey - they were the only big buttons i could find in my house at the time.
her son is absolutely, perfectly beautiful...such a handsome baby. [wish i could post his photo, but parents are very private about that kind of stuff.] i loved every minute of holding him and feeding him and rocking him. it's been many, many years since i did that...and to be honest, i missed out on really enjoying my children when they were infants. i was often in survival mode, juggling a million things, sleep-deprived, really grumpy, and well, just quite spent and running ragged. so, it's nice to hold babies now and give them back to the parents after i've poured out my love and affections. ;p
